Work History

I do tech & startup things.

Connecting, creating, adaptive learning, content development and facilitating are strengths I work to bring to each endeavour that I meet.

It's my great pleasure to work with incredible groups aimed to create wellbeing and strength in community, using strategy & connectedness to see the bigger picture. I like to link together opportunities & people, to find the ways we can ground that enthusiasm into a vision and operation.

If you have more questions, or would like to chat, lets chat!

Director

For the past 2.5 years I've been building a small web-design & photography startup ('Honest Means') in my spare time. This has been a ground-up experience involving learning about/applying everything from small business planning to marketing, product design, material costing, manufacturer relations, stock-takes, online user experience and beyond.

I've also worked for the past 1.5 years as coordinator for a community timebank, and been a steering member in the development of the Timebanks of Canterbury. These have been strongly relational roles, yet have required a high degree of self-management, personal accountability and tolerance during phases of a lack of clarity.

New people & experiences

Growing up in the Makarora Valley, I've grown up and worked among an incredibly diverse array of people, most of them travellers. I love learning, exploring, and working together with passionate people to accomplish all sorts of things. My work history has a strong service focus, so I'm comfortable approaching strangers and building short-term relationships quickly.

My formal education has given me the resources needed to work effectively and meticulously within professional frameworks, while my community work has taught me to operate in small, brilliant groups with faced-paced changes, communicate clearly, leverage strengths and adapt laterally to new situations.

In my spare time over the past years I've been turning my creative enthusiasm into a small startup consultation & design pursuit - 'Honest Means', which I can honestly say has been as awesome an experience as it has been challenging ๐Ÿ˜‰

Synopsis

Long Story Short

I work hard, I learn fast, I'm honest and I'll give anything a go. I'm pretty confident my past employers would vouch for me. The chance to work within an awesome community framework with good team members, learning new skills and further developing my own experience is exactly what I'm looking for - these are times where community development has again become revolutionary, and I consider the chance to work in such fields as much a priviledge as a pleasure.

I very much look forward to our next endeavour, if it seems there is a need for my skillset and personality. Please feel free to get in touch, lets chat! ๐Ÿ™‚

With kind regard,

Dean Harliwich
