Leaping for land – Ferrying sheep from Mt. Albert Station across Lake Wanaka near the mouth of the Makarora river. A makeshift wooden “barge” could be floated and drawn across the distance by Hamilton jetboat, often pulling upwards of 15 sheep across the depths in one run.
